Its funny. Apparently the concept of footwork has become "running" now. His destruction of gatti was just marvelous tbh.

Floyd would still be undefeated against all those names, no doubt. No disrespect to that great list of boxers but Floyd is just in another class of his own.

Because of what you wrote, I decided to watch the fight again. AND, I was right in my thinking. There was NO " Cotto's head falling apart" etc. He had to fight Margarito gong backwards because Margarito , although he took great punishment, kept marching on and Cotto kept going back to the ropes and corners. Margarito got in som e good punches during the first 8-9 rounds but they had no effect on Cotto who wasn't even bruised or bleeding except he had a nose bleed, and a slight cut on his eyelid with never bothered him.

His face only became bloody in the TENTH round from a cut, and he actually won the 9th round, and was firing some excellent combos in every round. But Margarito was relentless and cut off the ring very well. He score with body punches and uppercuts none of which bothered Cotto. Margarito won 2 of the first 6 rounds, winning rd 2 and 5.
I suggest you should look at the fight again.

Cotto said after the fight , for a couple of years or more, that Margarito's punches were heavy, but poo-poo'd any wrap fantasy. Even afor a year or more after the Mosley fight where the used pad was found. Then his fans kept pressuring and pressuring Cotto and he said he was beginning to have doubts. I recall it all very well.

Look at the fight again, you'll see Margarito took much punishment, Cotto some, particularly to the body and uppercuts, but it didn't bother him at all. and outpunched Margarito a lot until the 7th rd, which he lost, also the 8th. won the 9th. etc. Until the ref stopped the fight when Cotto went down, and later took a knee, he was still throwing good combos, although not so many.

After you see it, you'll know why I defend Margarito so much apart from my conviction that it was not even a "storm in a teacup". He was one courageous fighter without much talent, who achieved far more than he ever thought.

I will watch it again Im running on what I remember .

Just a point, the wraps in court were not the Cotto fight wraps they were the Mosley fight, when he was made to re-wrap he was knocked out cold and didnt bother Mosley with power at all, Cotto went life and death with Mosley, its all circumstantial and we will never know what really happened it just seems very fishy to me and Cotto winning the rematch seems a fitting end.

Cotto has always thought he was cheated, he just didnt come out and say it he always said he takes his losses like a man, he says he gassed but reading between the lines he feels he was cheated its easy to see I think.

              LOL!

You're sounding like Mayweather when he was on Leno, in response to Leno bringing up Oscar's age..
"No, we're both in our 30's" hahaha

Gatti, De La Hoya, Hatton, Cotto, Mosley & Pacqiuao were not at their best when Floyd chose to fight them!

Why repeat your first dumb comment, Floyd was not prime when he fought them, do you get it FLOYD WAS NOT PRIME, they ALL fought in the same era thats what they had so many fights fighting each other.

Floyd chose to fight Manny in 2010 it was Manny that said no fight , it took Floyd to go to him face to face to make the fight Manny did sweet fck all to make the fight, all he kept saying was NO test .

How was Hatton not prime you fool he was undefeated and weighed 152 lbs the same weight he was when he beat KT.

Come with an argument that can hold water or fck off.

Margarito was badly put out by the wrap nonsense, and Mosley had a cast iron chin, like Margarito, but a far harder punch. He was completely upset all through the fight. Fighters are like racehorses, trained for fights to reach peak just the day of the fight, and any little thing can throw them off. Nothing like this had ever happened to Margarito before.

And that was Mosley's one last great fight, helped by Margarito's complete demoralisation. After this, he lost 5 of his last 9 fights and had 3 wins against nobody any good. Drew with Sergio Mora . Even then Mosley was much faster than the other fighters.

I know the wraps were the Mosley ones . They were still just used flimsy gauze knuckle pads with no plaster of Paris on, in, or around them. I hope you looked up the Boxing Illustrated plaster of paris wrap test that I told you about. Even if Margarito HAD plaster of Paris on his wraps they'd have crumbled after a couple of punches, and the residue would have damaged his hands. This plaster thing has been DEBUNKED long ago and many times since. NO fighter could successfully use it. Did you ever see how thick a cast has to be...??

And....the microscopic 2 elements of P of P lacked the third, and they were only MICROSCOPIC... common items used everywhere. The legal reports said all this before.

I thought at the very least that my telling you of that well publicised test would satisfy you. But you are so persistent, that you remind me of that old sea shanty, "The wreck of the Nancy Lee" where the song was ..."He played the ukulele as the ship went down"...Which I learnt, incidentally as a child.

Cotto NEVER questioned the wraps like you say he did. It was exactly like I said. I read every word and line about it, because I was deeply interested in what looked Very like a "lynching" of an innocent man. And...the Commission actually found him "INNOCENT", using that very word. Cotto was eventually pushed into doubting, then months later he was fairly sure of it, and then later he was positive, and "always" suspected it. . Like a guy that had been propagandized until from unbelief, he became convinced.. even though it was still not true.

I've been involved in boxing all my life since childhood. I was a well tested amateur, my uncle was a promoter, another uncle a carnival booth boxer, and I was personally acquainted with several top fighters, including the great Laszlo Papp. Read up on him, you may never have heard of him. He should have been ashamed of himself since there wasn't even an atom of proof. He used the wrong tactics and was put on the retreat by a steel chinned pug. Right through the fight he was leading, until near the very end, and still throwing some nice combinations.

"Reading between the lines" means exactly nothing except speculation with no evidence...Your own thoughts not fact.

Let me know what you saw, after you look again at the fight..

I respect what youre saying because I know what goes on behind doors with fighters and how things can upset them, we took a Commonwealth champ to Glasgow to fight Gary Jacobs, Wilf was ready and inshape, he got a phone call from his girl back home telling him his 9mth old daughter is sick and up all night, consequently Wilf just couldnt light the fire he didnt want to be there and just wanted to go home and it hapenened within 15 minutes of that phone call, this is the morning of the fight and the title was gone then and there, Jacobs won on points and got a shot at Buddy McGirt no far on, big opportunity missed because of neurotic woman having a panic attack.

I do understand what youre saying, will take it onboard .
