Would boxing be better if it embraced the UFC view that losses aren't deal breakers?

In the UFC rankings as long as you can string back together 3-4-5 wins after a loss you can get yourself right back into title contention, regardless if you have potentially double digit losses on your record, as in a Jorge Masvidal.

In boxing careers are almost deemed over if a top boxer gets his first loss.

I think that's one of the main reasons the top guys in boxing don't want to fight the other top guys.

Top guys in MMA who have had great comebacks after losses probably would have been deemed long washed in boxing and by boxing fans to be fair.

This new generation of fans are the reason that a loss is a deal breaker. You CAN get yourself back into contention the way you said.

The UFC rankings are trash. They’re just as bad as the ABC’s in boxing, it’s all about business and not integrity.

Case and point... I guarantee McGregor has been shoe horned into the top 5 for his fight with Porier. Despite the fact Conor hasn’t won a fight at 155 since 2016. It’s just as laughable as the sh** you see in boxing...

Canelo Joshua and Loma seem to be doing fine. Its how you look after that loss. Kovalev after his 2nd loss to Ward never looked the same. It varies by each fighter.

Agree, look at the old days where greats such a SRR has multiple losses

Although how many of those were genuine and based on mob involvement

UFC has a bunch of sloppy bum fights that they're good at hyping up. They'll call it a stacked card and if you watch its guys throwing haymakers with 0 defense and gassing out after the 1st round. The only guys worth watching are the ones with minmal losses like Pierre, Jones, McGregor, Khabib and Silva in his day. 1 loss isn't a big deal but when you start getting mopped back to back then maybe

              This.

Boxers don't lose anymore to someone that got the better of them.

Losses are not deal breakers. I mean, Pacquiao got like seven losses and three draws.

Losses are a big deal in any sphere of life. Nobody comes to lose and, when they do, they are held to that. In real life, if you fail repeatedly at your job, you'll be fired. Same with school. Failing grades are losing grades. You don't get a second chance.

At least in boxing you do. You can keep going until you are a clear bum.

                  People shouldn't romanticize losers.

He'd be a bum if his name didn't carry him. The Pacman also put in his solid work early on, so he gets a pass. He has a good resume.
