Robert Garcia and the Mayweathers hired Ariza didn’t they? And they both fired Ariza which shows there’s no truth to the "Ariza shakes”

the fact that they hired and fired him in no way proves absolutely anything. Especially as it relates to his work with Pac. The bigger su****ion should come from the sudden disappearance of kos from pacs record after Ariza was gone.

He had su****ions, but he had no proof. He was also bitter because Ariza kicked him in the chest.

When he juggled between boxing, politics, singing, movies and religion, that’s when the sudden disappearance of KO’s from Pac’s record started. He lost focus, that’s the more logical explanation. He was still knocking down his opponents, he just couldn’t knock them out. Bradley said every Pac punch is a death punch. Now, even in his 40’s, he was able to knock Thurman down and hurt him with a body shot, that showed his power was still there.

I get the sense that a lot of people are writing Verdejo off in a way that doesn't give Nakatani his due credit. He pulled off this big upset win and also gave Lopez an awkward night's work, and that fight's the only L on his record. Sure, the rest of his resume prior to that was all in Japan against a bunch of anonymous opponents with so-so records, but he's been OPBF champion (regional titles like that carry more weight in Japan than they do in the US) since 2014. I'm sure he'd give a lot of guys at that weight more trouble than they might bargain for based on what we've seen of him.

All that said, the way Verdejo unravelled in the fight is concerning regardless of the opposition. I've never seen a fighter with the pedigree of Verdejo have his punch resistance evaporate as suddenly and dramatically as it did for him in that fight, and it wasn't like Nakatani hit him with a sledgehammer punch either.

so religion and politics is why he went 10 years without a ko after stopping Oscar, hatton and cotto consecutively? Sure.

You probably don’t know when he fought Cotto, he just started politics. Mayweather himself said Pac has too many distractions outside the ring, and if a boxer wants to remain on top, he has to be committed in boxing. Politics alone would take its toll on any boxer, religion is the final nail in the coffin. Picture this: a full time senator, part time boxer in his 40’s knockdown a young undefeated champion and hurt him bad with a body shot, that’s "power” right there, it’s been there since day one. If he could do that, think about what a "full time boxer with no distractions” version could do to his younger opponents.

He had su****ions about what was IN the shakes. But he literally saw Ariza giving Manny shakes and specifically said Manny suddenly started performing better. Roach just wanted to know what it was.
