Yeahbutwhatabout? No one is talking about Wilder. The thread is about De La Hoya and GGG.

But since you now raise it. Nobody should be talking about killing someone in the ring in a literal sense. I'm gonna kill him -- figurative -- is fine.

Golovkin talking about legally killing someone in the ring is wrong and he should know better. Wilder repeatedly talking about it was wrong and he deserved the censure that came his way.

See you just answered my question and showed the truth, Wilder got all kinds of criticism that came his way but Golovkin still has as of yet!

It makes it look worse cuz Golovkin is threatening the life of a non fighter since Oscar is retired so basically a pedestrian, Wilder threatened a active pro boxer!

Shows that this society has a long way to go with sorting out double standards and equality of all people on this planet!

Comparing years an years of degradation, insults, violence, riots an etc to one fûçking movie is nowhere near accurately showing a double standard but since we’re going that route then we will shall we?

What was the most insulting thing in that Borat movie you think?

What is the most insulting thing in America that has been done to a black man you think?

Since you’re defending Golovkin you’re obviously his biggest fan an should know all about his culture, let’s hear it then!

                    "Past His Prime"

The term "past his prime" is technically true but misleading. One nanosecond after the best performance of a man's life, he's past his prime. But GGG is still a terrific fighter. Canelo certainly doesn't want any more of him! He keeps waiting on GGG to get older and perhaps slower before tangling with him again. Sometimes the money just isn't a big enough lure.

When I saw GGG against Derevyanchenko, I really thought he was diminishing in his ability to "pull the trigger." He was too hesitant. He was walking Derev. down as he always does, but he was keeping his face in a guard and waiting for openings before throwing. That was not the old GGG who walked in swinging, virtually always got off first, and had a work rate that just swarmed over people.

The bout against Szerameta looked more like the old GGG, and the hesitancy appeared to be gone. Maybe he looked at the game films, saw the weakness, and corrected it.

All that notwithstanding, if you put him in the ring with Canelo Alvarez five minutes from now, he'd give Alvarez all he can handle and then some. Don't look for that fight to get made any time soon.

The old GGG always looked good against low level opponents. Szeremeta was a return to that.
