In round 5 Floyd landed what I thought was the most important punch in the fight.

Manny had great success in the 4th round after basically pawing and minimal activity from rounds 1-3. Manny started Rd 5 where Rd 4 left off and was going for the kill. He kind of abandoned defensive responsibility and was in an offensive mindset...JUST BEFORE Floyd landed that punch Manny slowed down because he saw it coming last second.

I always thought Floyd missed a historic chance to score a KO against Manny because the 2009 Manny would've ran into that right hand the way he did against JMM in their 4th fight. "Prime" Manny was reckless defensively because his offense was so damn good and effective but he's always struggled with defensively responsible fighters that can counter punch.

That's why I never understood when people suggest Manny would've beaten Canelo. No chance. Even a green version was far too big and too good at counter punching. Manny would've beaten Sergio Martinez though and - if the fight took place at 154 - GGG also. Yes, Manny would've beaten GGG at 154. GGG struggled with Brook's speed until he caught him but Manny doesn't trade with you (like Brook did) Manny is an in/out fighter and he would've been very effective against a weight drained GGG.

Anyhow, Floyd landing that right hand (and others) made Manny hesitant.

Mayweather is better than those other guys and a great defensive boxer.

        Pac always does that.

        Its a bait tactic.

He retreats because the other guy is angry and wants to retialiate, so he sets a trap and hits him with a massive counter.

Manny did this thoughout his career. I think the perfect example of this is the Margarito fight.

Watch that fight and see how Margarito Pac hurts him, flurries, and then retreats. Margarito starts chasing because he wants to pay him back and walks into a right hook or straight left counter.

        Rinse and repeat.

Floyd obviously watched lots of Manny tape and wasn't going to fall for that. That's why instead of chasing he took the time to recover and try to set his own trap.

i don't think manny hesitated after that punch.. he was chasing floyd on bicycle the whole night. you can rewatched the fight all over again and again.. it's hard to knockdown somebody who's running and hugging.

Floyd outlanded Manny in the fight. How do you outland someone if youre running and hugging?

Floyd boxed and moved. It's a boxing ring and not a roman coliseum. They aren't fighting to the death but to outscore their opponent over 12 rounds. Floyd did that. It wasn't pretty but that's Floyd's career in a nutshell

If Floyd was only running and hugging why couldn't Manny catch him? Why does Manny lose to someone who runs and hugs ? Manny complained of a sore shoulder but I guess you're gonna tell me he was having calf cramps again too ???

Pac's best must have been a real short period given his w/l record.

how can you hit the one who made the ring a race track? can you tell me? and compubox is a scam.. you have to watch the whole fight in slow mo see how they count floyd's punches that don't even land.. somebody posted this vids all in slowmo in this forum. pac clearly outlanded floyd. but we can't help it if the judges and ref are well paid.

Plus Floyd was hurt. Every time he shakes head means Pac got his attention and Floyd shook. In fact if Floyd shakes head in any round the round should automatically go to his opponent
If floyd shakes his head in any round it should go to his opponent?? What the **** kind of logic is that

I recall Mayweather getting clipped pretty hard but he's one of the best defensive fighters of all time and knows how to easily diffuse situations like that.
