Comments Thread For: Teofimo Lopez: Great Opportunity To Fight Kambosos In Australia; Gotta Pay Up If They Want The King

For the path he's chosen on the road to lightweight supremacy, any fight would have been an acceptable next option for Teofimo Lopez Jr. The theory on the way up was to never settle for something less when the best was available. That same logic is applied to the next likely fight on Lopez's radar, a mandatory defense of his IBF title which he aims to turn into an event.

If TEO is fighting 3 times this year, on the back of defeating the #1 P4P star at the time? He’s more than deserving of this showcase bout in Australia!! People need to remember he’s ahead of Garcia haney an Tank. They’re the ones who need to play catch up. None of their wins can come close to Lopez.

Go get that money Young King!

With NOSTRODAMUS By his side teo can achieve all sorts!!

Thats what's up with Lopez man do what u gotta do make ur $ since u made ur stake in the sport by beating the top dog in ur division possibly the best fighter p4p in the whole world. Lomachenko gotta wait since he didn't press the fight got nobody else to blame but himself so he's gotta stop it with these excuses he doesn't even realize he's doin. Plus he's gotta blame himself his team an Arum for accepting the fight without the rematch clause to have the fight right away like most big fights have on the dotted line. Goin back to Lopez thats a good look for him put his stake in another country with a W an keep on trucking with the "The Takeover"

Kambosos is a pretty good fighter and a solid first defence.

The energy of the crowd is going to be electrifying. They’ll all be there to support Kambosos 100%. Hopefully Teo can keep an active schedule this year.

Exactly this. It's another downside of the Mayweather effect..."I'm the champion, they should come to me!!"

If Lopez fights Kambosos in America, does a job on him, then he might pick up a few fans that watched on TV from down under. If Lopez goes to Kambosos' backyard and does a job on him, then I think he's more likely to pick up more fans from that part of the world.

He's the man in the lightweight division, no doubt. But I hope he doesn't get too big headed and start chasing the billion dollar mark.

Anyone can draw big crowds when you’re headed to smaller less big boxing frequented countries wherein the challenger comes from that country. The less you have the more it’s worth. Lopez talks about his “drawing power” for 40-50k fans all of whom would be there to cheer on the other lad. By the way, does Australia currently allow that sort of group at public venues? The Rona isn’t going anywhere and we are 3 months away from the start of spring for the northern hemisphere.....are we expecting the Rona to vanish from Australia by that time?

Teofimo is a hell of a fighter. Someone here said he should be more humble--that's a good idea. Many great fighters of the past would say "We will see what happens in the ring." Leonard, Pacquiao, Sugar Ray Robinson, Foreman, etc. (not Ali) were not big talkers but took care of business in the ring.

The difference between Mayweather and Lopez, is that Floyd made more money than any other professional athlete in his era, and without major endorsements! That era is over! Won't happen again! This era will be much more like Ali (Canelo, Joshua)! Saudis got the bag, go get the bag! Teo needs to study that approach! The world is there for the taking!
