Comments Thread For: BoxingScene.com's 2020 Fight of the Year: Jose Zepeda-Ivan Baranchyk

By Keith Idec - The overused adjective "great" doesn't do justice to the inconceivable violence Jose Zepeda and Ivan Baranchyk produced October 9. Their unbelievable brawl included an incredible eight knockdowns, four apiece for Zepeda and Baranchyk, and two rounds in which both boxers went down. The ridiculously resilient Zepeda somehow survived two...

Fun ass fight. Hands down the fight of the year & honestly probably in my top ten that I've seen ever forget about just 2020.

Also as a guy who had a nice bet on Zepeda this fight took some days off my life expectancy it was so back n forth & intense.

This would have been ko of the year too, in my opinion, but Povetkin starching Whyte was like popping the top on a bottle of champagne.

Good win for Zepeda, but man he's gonna have to work on defense of he'll get starched and laid out flat as a pancake as he keeps going against tougher competition. A salute to both fighters though... takes some hardcore guts to go in there firing bombs back and forth like that for 5 brutal rounds. Hopefully Baranchyk can come back okay with no lasting ill-effects.

I dont know why people dismiss this as FOTY because of the 'low skill level'? they are both top 10 contenders ffs.

One of the wildest fights I've ever seen, not just in this year. It's hard to come up with a good counterargument against it.
