Not at all. He promised his mother when his father died he was fighting one more fight and then retiring. He kept his word to his mother and promptly retired. His mother hated seeing him in the sport and with the death of his father he did it for his mother.

Khabib takes the fight making it clear that he's donating the purse to charity. If he loses, his reputation will not take a hit as he fought for charity. If he wins, then he still donates the purse to charity and gets to laugh for the remainder of his life each time he thinks about his victory.
