It might have been close in terms of rounds. But the rounds themselves were very easy to score.

Lopez banked 6 clear rounds
Lomachenko banked 4 clear rounds
2 were somewhat close but edged by Teofimo.

The range of scorecards could have been 114-114 to 116-112 Lopez.

With all his experience , Loma should have known that he cant give away most of the first half of the fight. At least do something to make the rounds appear close.

Yeah, although he is defensively superior, I think he should've been more aggressive, at least in the first and last 30 seconds of the rounds he wasn't active. His game plan was obviously to take Lopez into the deep water, making him miss, which he did, but he was in better shape than he thought. Lopez edged Loma out winning the first 6 with effective aggression alone. On the other hand, if a judge was defensive minded, he could've scored the first 6 rounds 10-9 for Loma, as Lopez was the aggressor, yes, but he wasn't really landing anything cleanly. If he fights him again, he will approach it much differently, I would imagine.

It’s pretty embarrassing to request no rematch clause, then come back crying for a rematch because you lost. “There’s principalities in this”. I hope there’s a rematch.
