Let's discuss and see which of us is the casual. Lomachenko was on the very short list of fighters of this current generation who could have been universally regarded as an all-time great fighter one day. All but his most ardent haters gave him a pass on the Salido fight, but now he's shown himself to be something less than great twice in 15 pro fights. He still has a great resume and he remains a generational talent in terms of his boxing skill and acumen, but nobody whose not a Ukranian sports junkie regards him on the level of a Duran, Pacquiao or SRR. Before the Lopez fight he was actually on track to be in that discussion one day, but he royally blew it by fighting so timidly for much of his fight against Lopez.

I assert that he has ruined his legacy because the only way to redeem himself and erase the stain of that frustrating defeat to Lopez is by avenging his loss to Lopez. But Lopez will never give him the opportunity - probably out of sheer spite - so Lomachenko will always be judged by his critics largely on that performance, no matter what else he achieves (he'll probably only fight 1-2 times more anyway). He will be remembered as a amazing boxer, but not as a great fighter.

I keep telling people it's hard to hit Lomachenko cleanly and he usually lands on other fighters very cleanly. Unfortunately for him, he didn't do enough of that and he didn't decide to do that regularly until it was too late late.

I don't recall asking you how long you've been watching TV. I don't give a flying fck that you're old, you mushy-headed fck. I don't need to beat my chest and tell you how many fights I've seen to make my point (I may well be older than you), but you seem to think that's worth something. You don't have any cred with me because your own posts reveal very clearly that you are an imbecile. Your ****ty example proves what to you precisely? Canelo was at the beginning of his career arc when he fought Floyd. Fighting a HOF legend at that stage was an absolute win-win circumstance for him, no matter the outcome. Even losing wide, the platform he stepped up to that night made him twice the star he was before.

Lomachenko, in case your old ass didn't realize, is at the tail end of his career and, as I already stated, will not likely have the chance to redeem his ****ty showing in his biggest fight ever. He'll fight a couple more times, maybe even beat a name fighter like Tank, but what is to be said of him if he never avenges that loss to Lopez? There are plenty of revisionist fanboys on here who are going around pretending that Lomachenko somehow got robbed for not fighting, but the world saw the fight. For seven full rounds, Lomachenko did not want to engage his opponent. He didn't have the nerve to take the risks needed to win in the moment that it counted most. If he never gets the Lopez rematch, that will be the enduring memory of his professional career.

I thought the 12th round was very close too. I'm a bit surprised that quite a few people are calling that a clear round for Teo.

There's so much hate for Loma that guys like Lopez would NEVER give a rematch. There's way too much risk there. Look at what is shown here. He got beat up in the second half of the fight.
