Loma is a very solid world champ level boxer

The problem was people saying he’s an all time great, he isn’t. I never understood where it come from. I also never understood this supposed amazing skill set he has. Take away the angles with a decent pivot like Lopez did and Loma is fairly basic with no plan B. He has a very effective plan A most of the time but what happens when it’s not working? Evidently, not much

I’m actually a fan of watching Loma fight, but never saw him as one of the greats. Nowhere near.

You can say It’s impressive what he did so quickly in the pro’s, but he had a lot of those WSB fights, which are basically like pro fights that don’t go on the record, and far more beneficial and tougher than padding a pro record full of stiffs to get 15-0 in the pro’s before stepping up. That’s why guys who fought in the WSB are ready to fight at a decent level in the pro’s early on.

Many people aren't really students of the game, and most have never been in a boxing gym, much less thrown a punch or been hit with a punch.

Winning a gold medal is next to impossible in any sport. Next to impossible. Now imagine doing it in boxing... Twice. Then winning a world title in your 3rd fight. Then begin knocking off the best of the best immediately.

He lost a razor close decision to a guy while attempting to unify the entire division. A fight that deserves an immediate rematch.

If that's not greatness, I don't know what is.

The issue we have right now in boxing is the culture and behavior of young fighters. It's disgusting. Coaches are not correcting the behavior of these fighters for a multitude of reasons. Same reason parents aren't correcting the behavior of kids. This culture of trolls and *****-like behavior bleeds out everywhere. You see it on this forum in droves.

I posted a few highlight GIFs of Loma's offense in another thread, and it completely destroyed the trolling that's been going on here. That in itself... The fact a couple of posts could do that... Proves and exposes the mentality of the culture of this forum... and even elsewhere.
