If really Shavers hit the hardest in history then Larry Holmes must have had the best chin in history. This was just incredible to watch. Everyone else should have been in coma for hours and yet he managed to stand up and ultimately won the fight against Shavers.

        Exactly how you’d imagine.

Earnie was well in to his 50’s at that point as well. Very nice fella tbf as long as you weren’t causing trouble, I used to always tell him he let Holmes off the hook in round 7.

I never considered Tyson to be a monstrous puncher in terms of one punch power. No doubt he could end the fight in one shot if he landed fight, but that goes for most good punchers at heavyweight.

I put him among the best punchers in HW history due to to his variety, punch selection, combinations, finishing etc. But I don’t think he’s right up there in terms of raw power.

Holmes could answer that question. Tillis did some statements in regards of power.

I think his right hand might have been harder but all other punches belong to Tyson.

I was hit by both men.

Shavers shots were harder, but Tyson's shots hurt your feelings more.

He would hurl out obscenities and scream sacrilegious blasphemies everytime he landed a shot.

Tyson was more of a sharp puncher and usually stopped people with more then 1 shot..Shavers and Foreman had those 1 hitter quitters...
