          Shavers worked the doors in Liverpool for years after he retired. I’ve seen him put hands on a few fellas.

            I have no way to know for sure but I think Tyson hit harder with a larger variety of punches with both hands and was far more successful. Shavers was mainly known for a straight right and no other type of punch. Nobody ever raved about Shavers's left hook or right uppercut for instance. Tyson in contrast was a known bomber with all the different types of punches that can be thrown with either hand.

                    yes. And foreman hit harder too. Tyson hit hard, but he was quick with his punches. Foremand and Shavers were slower, but when they landed clean, dances or knockdowns regularly occurred.
