Comments Thread For: Luke Campbell: Ryan Garcia Has a Massive Future Ahead For Him

Ryan Garcia (21-0, 18 KOs) proved that he's the real deal on Saturday night, when he captured the interim WBC lightweight championship with a seventh round body-shot knockout against 2012 Olympic gold medal winner Luke Campbell (20-4, 16 KOs) of Yorkshire, United Kingdom.

Finally a class response in defeat.

Well played Luke and he gave a great test to Garcia, excellent fight to start the year....

Absolutely gutted for Campbell tbf, don't know where he goes from here, the lightweight division is stacked with talent....tough choice coming up after some soul searching...

Luke is always class Wilder and Loma can learn from him.

If Garcia fights tank, Campbell can fight Haney

Campbell fights more like amateur style and lacks killer instinct. Great guy & sportsman but came up short in the big fights. Maybe retire & become a trainer for Olympics.

Garcia is so tall for a lightweight, he can easily fill up to a middleweight later on. He doesn't have the greatest defence but that punching power and speed is special. Loma couldn't put Campbell down.

Whether Ryan can beat the other top fighters, we don't know for sure but boxing has a bit of new excitement again.

His father passed days before he fought Linares, with Loma, because Loma. And with Garcia, he had covid. I hope you still achieve your goal of becoming a pro champ one day, Luke! Cong**** KingRy

I thought Campbell looked a little sluggish. I guess he played out his roll the way he was paid to..
