A laboring effort by the 20-year old was enough to sway two of the three judges to award a majority decision win over Rene Marquez in their four-round lightweight bout. Judge Michael Mitchell scored the contest 38-38 even, overruled by scores of 39-37 turned in by Javier Martinez and Anthony Moss in favor of Garcia in their DAZN-televised opener Saturday afternoon at American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas.
