In the ring, he is an exciting, skilled boxer to watch, and outside the ring, sans the nude photos with his brother, seems to be a class act.Comment

i understand that a lot of people resent the klitschkos for their popularity because they feel it wasnt exactly hard earned. but the fact of the matter is that wladamir klitschko doesent need to fight, he doesent need the money, he doesent want the fame, the attention, fancy cars or the bright lights. he is fighting because he wants to be the unified heavyweight champion of the world, he has endured scorn and ridicule way above and beyond that of any other active fighter because he turned out not to be invincible, he has been written off not once but twice and still he has come back for the better. there are very few other fighters in boxing with such a single minded focus of capturing all the belts in their division.Comment

first - what i don't like:
- he is a bit too timid sometimes, especially after the sanders fight. then again, he may be overcoming that judging by the way he broke byrd when sensing that byrd was out on his feet.
- doesn't combine offence and defence as well as he could. if he gets more comfortable in the ring, hopefully he will counter a bit more in the future. he sure has the speed to.
- his mental composure has seemed questionable at times. if he regains confidence without arrogance, he can overcome this as well.
- smoother work in clinches. actually, in his last fight with chris byrd he was great with using quick tactical holds lasting merely a second or two. hope he keeps the good work up.
now, what i like in wladimir klitschko:
- the best offencive arsenal in the heavyweight division. the best jab, left hook, and straight right. needs a bit more work on uppercuts and working on the inside, but it looks like it's coming together - rembering how he put pressure on byrd and worked extremely well on the inside with a smaller guy. that's not the easiest thing to do with someone as quick and as good upper body movement as byrd.
- as much heart as a fighter can have. remembering the sanders fight, he took a beating and repeatedly got back up on his feet. also the fight with peter, wladimir getting hit with mean rabbit punches to the back of the head but never gave up or even showed a hint of quitting. on top of that, not even complaining about it - which he rightfully should have.
- the classiest fighter in the heavyweight division. nobody has more class. how many boxers always find something good to say about their opponents? even when the opponents are talking mad ****.
- self promotion. he doesn't follow the orders of a don king, goossen, etc. in other words, he's not a puppet.
- goal is to unify and fight nothing but top fighters. shannon briggs may not be the highest ranked fighter, but he is more dangerous to any boxer than say, kevin mcbride or monte barrett.
i agree on all points thereComment

I like Wlad for a few reasons.
One: and I won't lie about it. He is from Europe like I am.
Two: I have never seen a big man with his skills. Anyone who can turn a devastating jab into a left hook with ease like he does gets my vote.
Three: He along with his brother are very humble and do not trash talk their opponents.
Unfortunately his offensive skills have lead to his defensive shortcomings. Anyone who has had as much success in both their amateur and pro careers and have relied on their offense so much, will always suffer when they are forced to get defensive.
If Wlad had the same mindset and defense that Lennox Lewis had, Wlad without a doubt would go down as a top five heavyweight of all time. But his mental make-up prevents that from happening.Comment

I did get a bad taste in my mouth last time out seeing such a large man punch open Byrd's face. There seems something intrisically wrong in that, especially as he was - in the words of Byrd's shy and retiring wife - "jabbing and grabbing". The combination of golden glitter and Kool and the Gang didn't help much, either.
yet to draw real conclusions about his chin... I suspect that a large percentage of it could be psychological, as the guy has never been laid out cold, nor particularly looked like he was going to be, even against Sanders. It seems more as if he's a puppet with severed strings, his psyche no longer holding him up. Strange, that.
I do like the fact that he's probably a really nice guy, and I even like the fact that he's probably a little f.aggot, which is quite endearing for a brutal heavyweight. I also like his arsenal, which is impressive in the current division, and any real combination of Wlad + A.N.Other heavyweight does lead you to the conclusion that Wlad would beat them all, no matter who they were. I like him quite a bit, flaws and all.Comment

I dislike him because he avoids rematches like his brother against people that crush him and he chose to go to court rather than face DaVaryll WilliamsonComment
