Comments Thread For: Canelo Alvarez Officially Vacates WBA Middleweight Title

DALLAS-The time has come to ring in a new middleweight era. On the heels of claiming his fourth divisional title following a 12-round virtual shutout of Callum Smith, Saul Canelo' Alvarez will compete exclusively at super middleweight moving forward. The decision is accompanied by his officially vacating the WBA "Super" middleweight title, abdicating his place atop the 160-pound division.

GGG is crying tears knowing he’ll keep bashing bums since Canelo won’t fight him again.

Bashing bums for 7 million ain't that bad though

      15 million for Rolls
15 million for Deryvichenko(not a bum but a strong gatekeeper)
      7 million for Szeremata
And now maybe Mungia(a strong puncher)

“ This is his weight,” confirms Reynoso. “Anyone who wants to fight Canelo will have to meet us (at super middleweight). He’s not giving away anymore of his prime.”

Very good that he’s not willing to harm himself for money by fighting at a weight that may put him at a disadvantage. Too bad he didn’t have this same concern for others when he was weight bullying at 154/55 and then adding rehydration clauses for his opponents at 160, 168 and 175.

After his latest performance that's fair enough honestly

Make GGG vs Charlo to reestablish hegemony at 160

Boss move by Canelo. Coward Golovkin said anyone from 154 to 168. Canelo asked for 155 and Golovkin said no. Now his b**tch ass can go up to 168 to try to do something he couldn't in 24 rounds at 160.

I'm guessing Charlo is elevated to Super champ and we will get something like Derevyanchenko/Sulecki for the "regular" title

Eubank Jr big opportunity to become World Champion who is currently Interim

It will likely be Charlo vs Eubank Jr. for the WBC and Vacant WBA maybe or Eubank tries to win that Belt vs somebody else first then they make Unification
