Because he didn't. In fact, I saw today the fight again, and can't see Lara winning more than 4 rounds! Lara wasn't throwing anything in all the fight and kept running for surviving. Every round he was hit on the body, he forgot to hit back and just tried to survive.

Just watch the fight again, but try watching it without volume so your opinion doesn't gets manipulated by the commentators, but only by what you see, and then come back and tell us what you think. It wasn't even that close as I remembered live with commentators on!

However, I did think Lara Edged Canelo now with that being said, Canelo is a much better fighter now than he was then BUT also too he haven't really fought anybody with that Slick and Slippery Style either and at 160-175 it is really nobody that is as slick or Slippery as Lara. Andrade is slippery in the pick and can avoid punches well but he is not anything like Lara don't have the Footwork like a Lara

Lara did not beat canelo. I was like everybody else and thought the same, but after watching the fight again, I saw lara getting hit a lot in the body and canelo landed more power punches. Canelo deserve the win.

I remember scoring it 115-113 for Lara at the time and after re-watching it I still believe that it could have gone either way.

I think that Lara could have won convincingly if he had stood his ground a little more. His southpaw straight left was landing at will; he just didn't stop to throw it enough.

Also, Canelo did land plenty of body shots that weren't as eye-catching but they were still scoring blows.

My opinion the credit isnt given because lara style/ cubans style in general from a pro not amatuer standpoint isnt well liked. Theres 1 thing to be a technician yet when your a defensive wizard who doesnt mix it up ever well the shhh sucks to watch gifted or not. Anyways i had lara winning 7-5 or a draw max either way the fight was worthy of a rematch n i feel n always felt if only lara mixes it up more in general wouldve dominated that night included
