Nsb pick em 2021: New players welcome

Okay gentlemen (and/or ladies or whatever the hell else you wanna identify as) it's that time of year again. The 2020 Pick Em season is almost at a close and there's a hair's bredth between the top players with it all coming down to the final two fights of the year and a $500 prize fund at stake... awesome stuff.

And if any of you want to be part of next years competition the time to get in is now, the first thread of the 2021 season is already up for the Garcia vs Campbell card:

Free to join in and all forum members are eligible regardless of post count or reputation, all you need to do to be a part of boxing's most prestigious* prediction league is post your predictions in the Pick Em threads that will be posted every week or two.

We're always on the lookout for new players - brave souls willing to put their skill and knowledge on the line, to test themselves against the best for a chance at NSB immortality - but the time to join is now. Leave it more than 2 or 3 weeks into the season and your chances at winning will drop off dramatically.

I just joined for fun thinking I'd do very poorly. But I stuck with it and now I'm the self proclaimed rookie of the year (I'm sure there are other new players doing better than me but let me pretend for a moment...)

I only missed like 5 fights though and battling for space in top 10 rather than possibly top 5.

I enjoyed it very much though and didn't do half bad wagering along with a lot of my picks either.

2. Don't pick "draw." Just don't. It will never happen and you'll lose points.

3. When in doubt, follow Tatabanya and you can't go wrong.

Did any rules end up being changed or same deal as 2020?

I switched to three decison picks - didn't really have a full mandate, but I been pushing for this one since we took over from BroBob and I figured just up and do it... can always switch back next year or maybe tinker with where the split goes if folk ain't happy.

Added in an extra x5 so there's now 3 that can be used any point in the year.

Ain't 100% on the odds yet, might tinker 'em a little but I'm not sure I'm ready to go right to the metric odds multiplier I mentioned to you... I'm gonna track how the scores would look if we did though... also Ima keep a very close eye on it if you decide to run a sweepstakes using a direct odds multiplier system cos I think it's an intriguing idea. It might make for much more tactical gameplay though so I'd have to think carefully before introducing it.

Erm... I think that's about it... gonna be a coupla changes to the CREW I think.. looks like otrocubiche and HBx3 may be gone for good and Mammoth is on board for 2021. Gotta speak with CauliflowerEars see whether he still got interest for this year too so I might be looking for one or two more volunteers.

Point 3 can't be reiterated often enough to new players. Solid advice man... what you might call veteran tactics. Bhops would be proud.
