  • Comments Thread For: Campbell: I'll Be Ready For Ryan Garcia, Ready To Start New Year in Style

Olympic gold medal winner Luke Campbell is just a few days away from his big moment, when he faces unbeaten lightweight Ryan Garcia in Dallas, Texas. The interim-WBC lightweight strap will be at stake in the contest. Campbell left to the United States earlier, leaving his wife and kids alone during the Christmas holidays.

Will be cheering you on Luke!! Would be a huge feat if you pull it off. Already has to the keys to the city in hull, but the people Would NEVER forget this win.

And if you come up short, please don’t use excuses, such as Covid and ring rust etc. Just hold it, good Luck. #WarCampbell

My gut tells me Ryan knocks him out. I want to see Campbell win, I just do not know if he has the speed to keep up with Garcia.

Shocked? He’s faster, has better footwork, has excellent power and is 11 years his Junior. How could you possibly be shocked?

Here is my breakdown of what I think Luke Campbell can do to pull off the upset against Ryan Garcia:

Luke ain't no cherry pick .......ryans weakness is that he stands up straight whick makes him a sucker for the old overhand right and a bolo punch....This is a Great Matchup

Garcia definitely has the hand-speed advantage but I honestly haven't seem him use much footwork.

Ryan defends with a sweeping left hook whenever you attack him and Luke Campbell does a good job of staying balanced. He doesn't let himself get out of position like Garcia's recent KO victims did.

Garcia's power is excellent too; I'm just curious to see how he will handle someone who doesn't try to close the distance by lunging in.

It's funny you mention that because Ryan's weakness also enables him to use his greatest strength, which is that booming left hook.

Ryan Garcia does stand straight up, however he also throws the hook whenever his opponent tries to throw the overhand right you speak of.

That's actually how Francisco Fonseca got knocked out. Fonseca threw a jab and Garcia countered with the hook as Fonseca was loading up.
