People can gloss it up however they want, but Usyk's boxing skills are not as good as Tyson Fury's. Height doesn't win fights at the top level.

what is Ryabinsky talking about here, he's taller then his charge and has more reach and Povetkin is normally around 223 in most of his fights, Usyk was 217 for his last? it's not like he's a midget he just lacks power, if that's what he meant, why didn't he just say it strange fella, the problem for Usyk is he looks like he's lost a step or two since moving up and his speed was his one and only real chance of beating these guys so it's not looking too promising for him...

But if Smith was 6'3" 220lbs then it'd be a lot harder challenge than it was beating up a skinny beanpole

I was mainly using Smith as an example of every expert thought Smith would have the better of the jab by far, even those who thought Canelo would win, which was most of them, but Canelo's superior skill allowed him to even win that battle.

I just think that bigger guys get discredited for their skill, and it's always or they are just tall, or it's just body strength, or in Wilder's case, it's just power.

But the likes of Crawford (who I love as well) it's always about his skill, but he does nothing that Fury can't do. Then you get Usyk's skill level being majorly overhyped because he is light for a HW, and was the best (just ahead of Briedis and Bellew) in a CW division lacking the top guys at HW division.

I actually scored Usyk vs Briedis a draw, as did boxingscene and many experts. I gave Bellew four of the first six rounds vs Usyk, those guys are Usyk's size, and are good, but not world-class boxers. I fUsyk was half as skilled as some say, he'd have beating both of those very comfortably

On top of that, neither of those were Usyk on an off night, like the Witherspoon fight, Usyk was as goods as he has been in any fight in those fights, yet he was not really much better than either of those guys.

I agree with your assessment of Usyk being schooled. He is very technically correct and has great feet. But is far lacking the skill, flair, and invention of the likes of Fury, Crawford, Canelo, etc.

This is exactly why he'll be matched up against AJ next. Eddie loves to fight the oldest, smallest or fattest in the division
