I'm a fan of Golovkin but I'm sceptical he'll try to do anything with his career

  • Golovkin had a great career. He was a fan friendly fighter and he's a definite first round HOF selection. With an amateur record of 345-5 and a pro record of 41-1-1 and currently ranked the #1 MW by BoxRec, Golvkin can walk away on a high note. As a 38 year old pressure fighter (no hug-a-mugs for GGG) it's time to hang em up.

Andrade is trying to make noise now, but the dude hasn't done anything at all. He's fought 2 guys who can arguably be classified as top10 in division, and walked away with a SD in each.

I do not rate either one
Alright, so let's discuss who you believe is worthy of a Golovkin win.

He did way more than Andrade though. Fought more top 10 MW’s.

While Andrade’s career highlight is ducking and backing out of a Charlo fight after agreeing to fight him, GGG has fought Jacobs, Canelo 2x, Derevyanchenko, and other decent/C level/journeymen fighters like Murray, Lemiuex, Geale, Rubio, Stevens, Rosado, Macklin. Notice I didn’t even mention Vanes for GGG, which is Andrade’s best win.

Vanes in his prime was better than all those guys except Canelo. His resume speaks for itself, those fights with Lara and Charlo could have gone the other way. Boo boo had the easiest time with him. GGG fought him with no notice after he was already washed up.

Lara outlanded Vanes in 9 of 9 rounds. Lara also outlanded him with power punches in 6 of the 9 rounds. Vanes landed a total of 33 punches to Lara’s 73. Vanes accuracy was crap also.

You can say it could have gone either way because you see it was a draw. But if you watch the fight you will see Lara outboxed and outlanded Vanes quite easily.

......and they were what? A bounce back fight when Canelo balked on a trilogy and his mandatory for the IBF title.

Bring your sack lunch if you want to do this with me

Golovkin was never ordered to fight Szeremeta by the IBF.

I did watch it. I didn't score the fight for Vanes but the rounds were far closer than they were vs Demetrius.

Based on what? He doesn't have a single win over a B+ opponent

The winner of the Chenko was to fight him and why not do it when Canelo was already scheduled to fight?
