You had to volunteer ;-) Same with Wilder etc I think the WBC asked for boxers to register interest, there are interviews on youtube about this.

You are not the first person I’ve heard like this idea. I’m against it myself personally, but (and not meaning you are one) casual fans won’t care about history etc, if they’re told a guys world champ and sold as if they’re top notch in the world, they’ll buy it!

Now onto the people opposing it, I think it’s because it’s so unnecessary. And the arrogant way Mauricio has done this CASH GRAB move is what enrages us! All that needed to be done was adjust the LHW- CW Limits!! That’s it. That could of “levelled playing fields“ right their, whilst maintaining the integrity of the sport.

All this has done is open the door to Z listed contenders to prance about calling themselves a “World Champion”. WBC literally be doing what they like all for them Sanctioning Fees. And then too use that poor boys name, in order to Justify these yellow bellied actions is TYPICAL Mauricio!!! Hope to god no other Orgs follow this BS. But something is telling me that eventually they will.

Rivas vs Romanov would be awesome.

I'm just not into this new division. Here's the thing, let's say in theory Rivas fights Bryant Jennings (rematch) for the BRIDGER title, people will not see it as the Bridger 1 vs THE bridger 2, but two top 25 HW's moving down to fight for a title, instead of having the fight at their career-long weights of HW.

The top HW's who could make the weight, like Wilder, would never lower themselves to the Bridger division. They believe they can beat the best HW's.

I remember hearing Bellew talk like he wanted Wilder to be the face of Bridger weight, but that ain't ever happening. It's the second and third-tier heavyweights that will consider moving down, purely for a chance of a world title belt, that they'd never get at HW, or second-tier CW's, that know they aren't good enough for HW, so try their look at Bridger.

This all means that their will never be A level fighters in this division. It will come and go within a few years imo. Then we might see a slight rejigging of the weight limits in Light Heavy and Cruiser.

Isaacs Chamberlain.....WTF? The guy is small for a CW! I could understand if Okolie or Riakpohre were there as they are huge at CW.
On a different note, I'd watch Babic fight anyone else on the list. Crude and basic but he doesn't stop swinging until someone's on their ass. Maybe he could finally retire Huck?
