I’m not saying that Haney is the most lucrative option, however I’m assuming that someone like Ryan Garcia has a minimum guarantee anyway so he will get paid regardless of who he fights.

I understand where you’re coming from though. I would add that the “he’s not a name or a draw” excuse is a convenient way to delay or avoid someone.

When Paulie Malignaggi won a belt at 147, every top welterweight wanted a piece of him. Not because he was a tremendous draw but because they felt like he was beatable.

“But Paulie had a name” you might say, and yes he did, because he faced the top fighters. Why? Because they didn’t see him as a threat.

None of this is to throw shade at Malignaggi either because I think he overachieved. I’m simply saying that Devin Haney will have a tougher time getting the other top guys to face him because he’s a threat.

If he wasn’t then they would be lined up to take his belt (email or otherwise).

      I’d be all for Haney-Garcia. They’re a similar level.

Then Haney and Shakur should fight eachother if they are so feared and ducked.

WHo have either these guys fought? The talent is undeniable but until they start fighting tougher competition they are still prospects...

Fair enough, as long as the tougher competition is willing to fight them as well. Haney has the Garcia-Campbell winner and Javier Fortuna as mandatories so he should have a legit opponent to answer the "who has he fought" question

Shakur Stevenson is apparently looking to face the Carl Frampton-Jamal Herring winner so the same goes for him.

To be fair they both seem willing to step up, and they're both kids with bright futures in the game. I don't think they are widely being ducked or anything at 130 or 135. Lots of questions should be answered for both in 2021.

I agree and I'm hoping that some combination of Teofimo Lopez, Ryan Garcia, Tank Davis, and Devin Haney will fight each other this year.

Shakur Stevenson isn't at 135 yet so I would be happy to see him face the Carl Frampton-Jamal Herring winner at 130.

Herring sucks and nobody even cares about him. Why the hell would Davis call them out? He's the A-side against those novices. Sorry I don't live on this forum like a lot of you. You impatient hoodrat thug.
