They had the same amount of time to prepare for the fight. As soon as Canelo got released he went looking for a fight

The difference is Canelo is a consummate professional. While he was off for over a year he stayed in the gym like a true champion should. He was ready and Smith should have been ready also. Hold Smith to the level of a World Champ
I have always believed Canelo would become the best of his era like Floyd if Floyd had started much younger as a ppv star & developed real power in higher divisions.

As good as Floyd was,he wasn't perfect & he didn't accomplish everything possible,Canelo can still surpass Floyd by becoming unified in the 4 most stacked divisions concurrently & if he continues cleaning out (154-175)

I say 154 because jmws full of big guys who can move up & at the rate Canelos going,he might end up having won every belt in 4 divisions & especially the middle divisions where its hardly ever been done for champs to jump up because the difference in weight is 6, 7,& 8 lbs apart

(that on paper is normally considered impossible & the last one was **** Tiger won a title at 160 & 175 by going straight from 160 to 175,Tiger literally looked like a black Canelo & one would think nelo were reincarnation of **** Tiger they fought similar too)

Rosado didn't win that fight in any way shape or form,to top it off he has fought everyone & has actually gotten way better now hes with Roach. And you truly are on another level of clowndom with all your bs claims about Canelo losing both to ggg, lara, & you cherrypick certain fights to justify your clowndom, fights when Canelo was 19 yrs old ffs. This truly exposes you for the gggroupie scorned you are

You couldn't be anymore transparent in your clowndom

I wonder who you thought won ggg v Jacobs, ggg v Deryev,& Pac vs JMM 3x,NOT
get a grip u punk. ryder is domestic level at best. the fact that callum and bjs struggled just goes to show how completely overrated bjs and smith are. thats just facts.

whether u think jacobs won against rosado or not doesnt change the fact that he STRUGGLED against rosado. jacobs only claim to fame is beating an overrated chinny quillin many years ago. dont know why he gets a lot of praise from people. for what??? making a past prime golovkin look human??? hahahahahahhaah give me a break. pathetic.

ur hero canelo is a fraud. the facts speak for themselves. the only tope ten p4p'ers he faced are floyd and ggg and he easily lost to both!!!

smith shouldnt have got the fight in the first place, he lost to ryder. the blame goes for canelo for making the fight, he could fight anyone he wants and hes consistently picking the easiest option.

A boxers job is to fight the lineal champ & get as many belts by beating as many champs as possible the higher ranked & rated the better. Impressing haters is not part of the job description. Smith was allowed to come in around almost 200 lbs easy,he didn't win a single round, Smith was the Lineal ring champ at 168 rated #1 by every org,& had the by far best overall resume at 168,Canelo had been ridiculed for" not fighting the real champ" by every clown now saying hes cherrypicking "the real champ"

so why didn't canelo go after beterbiev at 175???? instead canelo went after the weakest link kovalev. who was a paper champ at best, old and past prime and coming off a recent hard fight.

                I agree

It's been a frustration of mine people want to cry once a fighter is ranked in the top 2 or 3 slots but don't have **** to say about them being added to the lower spots for no reason.

"Hasn't fought any top tens" is a thing to ***** about before they're number one contender.

Everything is put on the best of the sport while everyone else gets to act with immunity because fans have blinders on at all times and you must be over exposed and hyped before they give a **** and notice a GD thing.

Fair comment, honestly. I do think Smith was somewhat weight drained, but I think that's on him for sticking around a division for which he's too big for far too long. That doesn't excuse his lack of an effective gameplan too - I know he had a short camp for this fight, but he's been after this fight for a long time, so him and his team should have already had at least a general idea of what tactics to use - instead he basically just showed up and let Canelo do what he wanted. I was very disappointed in his performance because I know that he's capable of better. If he wasn't, he never would have won the SMW WBSS.

What I love the most is when fans use top 10 wins to justify their fighter's resume, but act like moving one or two divisions up and snatching belts in the most embarrassing of fashions means nothing.
