He has put himself in an amazing position. Probably his biggest problem is a lack of opponents that might catch the imagination of the wider public beyond perhaps GGG. That remains the commercially strongest option.

Personally I think Bivol at 168 would be a compelling matchup.

These journalist keep putting GGG vs Canelo in our face lol...Canelo wins and it’ll be more moaning about GGG age...charlo would probably be the best combination of big money and competitiveness for Canelo ..Spence would do the best money but as good as Spence is, he’s too light in the ass...plant and David are fun and I hope he does with plant since BJS will just try and stink the place out

Let him fight Gongora he just got jumped up to # 10 over at Trans why not more interesting then BJS, I do not want to see him with Jacobs again, he is not interested in 3-G no more Plant is busy and unsure of his future as far as who he wants to fight, Ryder did you see his last fight last week ugly is being polite. Hey I am cutting up here but is the way match making is done these days I mean. Undefeated (dont peek behind those #'s) do it on free TV good exposure for boxing. Canelo believes everyone deserves a chance, Gondora the destroyer gets a nice check and he sure would mix it up for as long as it would go. Anything can happen in the ring talk could propel it, undefeated then he can move on to thowing out 7 names and all that for a few months something like that.

I'm struggling to see how Spence has even become part of this conversation. Yes, he will eventually move up to junior middleweight, and maybe one day middleweight, but that's still a ways off.

Canelo's days of fighting below middleweight are behind him and maybe even middleweight as well.

Any realistic chance of this fight happening would require Canelo to cut to 160lbs again and Spence to take the risk of jumping two weight divisions... to take on Canelo. Never going to happen in the here and now and very unlikely ever, I think.

A WBA title is almost like a real title, right?

Considering a) his last two fights were at 175 and 168 and b) his last fight at 160 was 1.5 yrs ago now, does Canelo fight again at 160 at this point?

GGG, Charlo, Spence and Andrade all will need to come up in weight.

The only fighter that I think could do that well is Charlo. I think that'd be the best sub-168 fighter that would actually be a challenge for Canelo.

I would give Canelo much more credit if it wasn't for him so obviously always having at least one judge on his side.

The whole world outside his camp knows he lost the first GGG fight. He had a judge score a draw against Mayweather. A judge with a wide score against Lara. GGG 2 not one scored for GGG when most still saw GGG win or a draw.

And of course it's still hard to get past him dropping a belt because he was still too scared to fight GGG while he was in his prime.

He's not too eager to jump back in the ring with GGG either. He was hesitant to begin with and even if a legit win is more likely at this stage he knows he's gotta eat a lot of hard shots to get it.

He's got easier paths to a solid pay day

Disagree on GGG win/draw the 2nd fight. Even his own trainer (Abel) thought he lost the fight.

The 1st fight was close, I can see why people want to call it a GGG win, but the truth is neither fighter clearly won that fight, which is why I'm ok with a draw.

Mayweather - I agree, that judge was either bought or crazy for that score.

Lara - yes the judge had Nelo 9-3, if he had scored it 115-113 for Lara, I wouldn't have complained.
