If this guy wasn't the mandatory canelo would not be fighting him next. If he wants to keep WBC title then he is has to fight his mandatory. There's no "pick" here.

Also, canelo has just fought and beaten the wba/ring champion who, prior the fight, was widely accepted as one of if not the best at 168. So, even if Yildrim wasn't a mandated fight, Alvarez is entitled to an "easier" fight if that's what he wants.

          of course you would!

          - you're a non-entity who is as undeserving of fight for a belt as any recently witnessed - much less a fight with a cash-cow like Canelo

          - you should get 5% of the purse as a punishment for stopping the fights we really want to see.

The only question is if he's gonna finish this fight on his knees or on his ass.

You don't hear that because it was known BEFORE the Callum Smith fight that the winner would have 90 days to face Yldirim if they want to keep the WBC belt.

To Canelo's credit it looks like he is going to get this out of the way with a quick turnaround in February.

                      Everything I said is true.

The WBC allowed their title to be on the line for Canelo vs Callum Smith, with the understanding that whoever won had 90 days to agree to terms to face Yldirim.

Alvarez just fought last week so if he gets Yldirim out of the way in February that should be applauded. Who else is fighting that frequently?
