Roy has terrible knees these days and clearly didn’t do any roadwork for the fight. He was heavier than he should have been and gassed out in one round. I can only imagine the pain he was in carrying all that extra weight.

Jones did look soft as hell. Even for a guy in his 50’s. My old man is in his 60’s, just recently quit smoking within the past year or 2, doesn’t do fu#k all for exercise except walk around, drinks beer most days, and he looks like he’s in better shape than Roy.

Tyson could probably beat a Chris Arreola type of heavyweight if he doesn’t get touched too much. I don’t think Tyson can really take a good punch anymore, but against a soft body like Arreola, Tyson would probably have more left in the tank by the late rounds. I’d favor Tyson over Arreola for sure.

Whats to scratch your head about? The second they showed 2 belts it was obvious there would be a draw.

Tyson won every round very clearly. Jones is in no condition to fight anymore due to his knees. There were two belts at the ready which tells you everything you need to know about the planned result. Tyson landed some pretty hard shots, but if he ever stunned Roy he would have just backed off and allowed him to recover, fake being fatigued, etc.

I think if Tyson has another exhibition, they should have a fourth judge to overrule in case of a draw, so one guy has to win. This would allow people who like to bet to place a wager more confidently.

As impressive as he looked for his age, you can't forget Tyson's mid 50's, it's just not ethical to get him in the ring with anyone with a top 15 ranking over 12 rounds in small gloves.
Iron Mike vs Shannon the Cannon though.............?

I know boxing people (boxers/trainers etc) don't really read much boxing news unless it's really big, so a lot of boxing people missed that this was a predetermined draw. It was said leading up to the fight that there will be no winners. It was also said that there will be no odds or betting, so idk how people managed to bet on it (I heard those bets were cancelled). Or call it controversial. Or say that the draw is to make a rematch. This was literally advertised publicly. Like it was not hidden, it was being said damn near through a loud speaker. Only thing missing was for someone to go around giving pamphlets to remind everyone that this fight will be a draw.

A couple of weeks before the fight I saw a post of an ad where CASUAL fans were discussing this information. If casuals knew this, boxing fans and boxing people should have known this too. There is no controversy, there is no robbery, it was not scored that way to dupe the fans into wanting a rematch. This was a predetermined draw and the fight was advertised as such. There is no conspiracy behind it.

Here is another big "hint", from a Forbes article before the fight:

The California State Athletic Commission has gone out of its way to say that this matchup is only an exhibition and that no official winner will be declared. The CSAC has also said the referee won’t allow the fighters to get too heated in the ring and that it doesn’t want anyone getting knocked out.
