Did GGG view Andre Ward as the way fans view Beterbiev for Canelo?

I mean “for years,” starting back to 2012, industry started talking about the potential matchup between Gennadiy Golovkin vs Andre Ward. HBO specifically addressed this when GGG beat Proksa in the post fight interview.

In 2013 Gennadiy Golovkin said 168 was “easy.”

And then the twilight zone began.

Nah. GGG was literally scared out of his ass. I don't blame him.

As far as Canelo, I don't care if he fights these Russians. They don't add much value to his standing. They need to put their work in first. Canelo fights who he wants.

That is why I don`t care about him. he is just moving between divisions, fighting the worst champs in each.

I remember before the Gvozdyk fight. Beterbiev is regarded as a stat padder with a weak chin and after the fight he's suddenly the boogeyman lmaoo. He should fight in ppv first before he dreams of a Canelo fight.

For me, the best fighter out of these white guys is Kovalev. I know he's racist and all but he would be one of my right hands in a boxing war. I like that no nonsense attitude. I like Beterbiev too. Not sold on Bivol.

I want the Canelo/Beterbiev fight as a cdn for sure, but I wouldn’t have Beterbiev a favourite at this point either. Canelo is so skilled. Fast, slick, accurate. His defence is so good these days, same with his footwork. He now feels every punch coming like Floyd did. Fighters cancel each other out. You cant expect two skilled fighters to both throw 75 punches a round. That would mean that the punches landing aren’t worth much. Canelo defence and counters would limit the amount of offence coming back at him. Giving Beterbiev much less punches to get the job done. I haven’t seen enough from Beterbiev but he has chopping power and he’s rough. Getting to Canelo is no easy task. Not young either.

The real question is will these same GGG/PAC diehards say Canelo ducked GGg when our grandkids are in high school?

I've actually developed a new admiration for Canelo today. Someone mentioned some big names to me today like Angulo and Mosley. Right away, I thought how those are already on Canelo's phase 1 resume. Now it's phase 3.

Scared? Maybe outpointed at most. Or maybe GGG saw something in Ward in which he feared being attacked to the body?

Canelo is filled out at 168, no damn reason he needs to fight at 175 against two dangerous, but unknown fighters with severe weight advantages.

The expectations are just that high for him now I guess.
