Who do you think can give Canelo a tough challenge?

    Currently in 160lbs:

GGG - I still think so mainly due to toughness.
Charlo - ??? maybe but I am not so sure

    Currently in 168lbs:

Benavidez - simply because he wont stop fighting even when hit
    Plant - ???

    Currently in 175lbs

    Tie: Bivol and Beterbiev

Bivol has good skills and used to fighting bigger men
    Beterbiev just wouldnt be discourage

Joe Smith - If Canelo wants a low profile, tune up opponent

    -------------

You'll probably guessed a common denominator among the fighters I chose.
They should be tough enough to receive and answer back.

Callum Smith was tough but did not answer back.
GGG answered back while receiving a lot.

I am not a Canelo fan but I like that he is fighting the best out there. I just hope that his future opponents will make most of the opportunity given to them.

    Fight back FFS.

Joe because he will fight hard for his fallen British cousins and bring respek to the family name.

Beterbiev because he has WMDs for fists.

I think Caleb Plant is the most difficult style match up for him among realistic potential opponents

I would add Andrade and Billy Joe because we seen Canelo struggle with these type of fighters. I would favor Canelo against anyone from 160-175 other then Bivol and Beterbiev tho

I have the same ideo also but I have not seen plant tested against a tough opponent.

Will Plant fight back? or will he be defensive?

160 ibs - Andrade would be canelo's toughest challenge as he has the skills, lateral movements and he won't lay down easily. Canelo struggles with that style a lot. Charlo would also be tough, but his style suits canelo A LOT better. Canelo only needs to worry about charlo's power, and why canelo avoids him baffles me as it is a winnable fight for him! Forget about ggg, canelo KOs him this time.

168 ibs - David Benavidez is a high volume puncher and could pose a danger to canelo, but I don't think he has the skills and ring IQ to trouble canelo. BJ saunders might be a tougher fight, but the problem is that BJ saunders is not consistent and we don't know which version of BJ saunders will show up. Caleb plant is skilled, but he is not on canelo's level in any way.

175 ibs - This is a tricky one...Beterbiev is just rugged, has heart and strong as hell and could make up for his lack of skills. Canelo is more skilled than beterbiev, but beterbiev's physicality could pose a serious threat. Bivol has the skills and could punch, but I don't think he could trouble canelo.

Reasonable to favor those in 175lbs division over Canelo esp those two.

Bivol and Beterviev are tested already.

Bivol has skills and power and used to be hit by bigger men.

Beterbiev is just a monster. I dont think he'll be deterred by anything that Canelo gives. He was once a HW in the amateurs and fought Usyk. He is also used to getting punch by bigger fighters.

Exactly that there's the question. I'm really high on Plant skill wise but he hasn't been in with a real tough test yet, there's miles between Plant's toughest opponent and Canelo. I'd still favor Canelo but I could see Plant being very difficult for him. Hopefully wei'll find out how it would go sooner rather than later.
