Canelo says Cruiserweight is too much: "160, 168 is my best."

At the post-fight press conference, Canelo was asked if he would ever try to win a title at Cruiserweight. He ruled it out by saying, "No, it's too much. I think 160, 168 is my best."

He didn't mention a return to 175. There are so many options at 160 & 168, he'll probably only go back to 175 for an Undisputed superfight if Beterbiev continues his 100% KO streak.

He's too small for that weight class. Guy is 5'8 and started at 140.

Alvarez should 160 for as long as he can

          It’s a glamour division

And he can fight the welterweight star who moves up to 160

Fair enough, I have no problem if he never goes up to 175 again. I’d be a bit disappointed if he went up to to fight another washed up fighter though.

It’s one thing fighting a washed up Kovalev at 175, but the others are probably a step too far. Canelo isn’t that big.

Nothing wrong with that though, people expect fighters keep moving up too far just because you wanna see them lose.

Like when people wanted Floyd to fight GGG, even though he started at 130. It’s just to satisfy people that want you to lose, even if it means fighting to the point where your skills are just nullified because you’re simply not big enough.

At middleweight there’s Jamie Charlo Andrade

168 has Jose B and Saunders

Huh? He started as a professional at 140.

                  He's 168 now.

He's not Guerillmo Jones who started at 154 and went to cruiser. Jones was 6'4 not 5'8.

Canelo is too small for the higher divisions.

Beterbiev will be 36 in January. I can see Beterbiev stopping Bivol, then Canelo going up to fight Beterbiev to become Undisputed. Canelo has the luxury of time on his side, he never has to fight above 168 again with all the options he has at 160 & 168. Even champs at 147 & 154 will want to move up to get the payday that comes with the Canelo fight.
