Canelo is not that great, he is just cherry picking fights the right way. 168 is really bad division.

He was coming off a terrible performance against another short dude, who put a much worse beating on him than Canelo did tonight.

He had 4 weeks to train, and hes just a british level fighter.

To be fair he was only given a month to prepare. I don't know if they established any game plan but he didn't use his height and reach at all.
