I thought he beat Lara, cotto, trout, and ggg in rematch but lost the first fight against Golovkin. The guy has never been on the bad end of a close fight, I think smith needs a stoppage.
Agreed,Smith needs to stop Canelo or dominate most of the rounds at least. If one of the judges scored the fight for Canelo even if he was utterly dominated by Floyd, imagine what they could do to Callum.

Of course he’s gonna feel hard done by if he gets a raw deal off the judges, that’s not what anyone signs up for.

In my opinion Canelo is the p4p no 1 and the last person in the world who needs a leg up. Hard enough to win a round against, bit harsh to say you have to win it decisively to stand a chance of it counting.

That was Adelaide Byrd who is a outliner and a joke of a judge.

Can't see it going to points and even if it does I can't see Smith being in a position to do enough to earn a win on the cards. I just can't see him beating Canelo.

However if he outboxes the Mexican and it goes 12 he has no chance. He would get robbed just like GGG.

Boxing has always been like this, the a side stars always get the royal treatment and that includes the benefit of the doubt in swing rounds... this has been like this forever and it’s not exclusive to Canelo so people just crying over it sounds dumb af. If you don’t like it don’t watch the sport... it’s been like this forever and will continue to be this way long after Canelo leaves the game. Let’s not sit here and pretend that only Canelo gets benefit of the doubt in close scoring rounds... stop that bs

"They" won't be in the ring. Canelo is going to make him long as he is tall.

Like Freddie Roach once said: “If you let a fight go to the cards, you better be prepared to live with the decision.”

I'm not convinced. Prior to Kov this was an even money fight with the bookies. Smith is seriously underrated here. If Canelo pulls this off IMO this is his best win other than the GGG draw which we know wasn't.

I don't think Canelo will need a decision in this fight. Fight won't go the distance. There are levels in boxing.

I’m not targeting Canelo specifically, I acknowledge that A side boxers can get the “royal treatment” or benefit of the doubt, and I’m not in favour of it for any boxer, I don’t have an agenda against Alvarez. I think both fighters should start off equal and if a challenger narrowly wins seven rounds then they have done enough to take the belt from the champion.

Don’t be so narrow as to offer me two options, either like everything about boxing or don’t watch it. I love the sport, doesn’t mean I wouldn’t like to remove its imperfections and strive for it being better. I know dodgy refs, judges, home cooked bias and overprotection of A sides/cash cows are part of the sport but I wish they weren’t.
I’m coming at this as a fan of the sport not a fanboy angle. This is persons livelihood, they go through hard camps and put their health on the line and don’t deserve to put all that on the line and be denied by any kind of bias. To call them pu55ys for not accepting that is ridiculous.
