John Ryder (5'9.5") who many thought beat Callum Smith is taller and has longer reach than Canelo.

Canelo is defiitely better than Ryder. But still Canelo has to get through that height and reach advantage of Smith. It took some time for Canelo to do that gainst Kovalev and we know Kovalev fades as the fight goes.
