    is Beterbiev wasting his career?

    No fight in 2020

Has only 15 fights in over 7 years.

Gvozdyk his biggest win and went to the retirement rigHT AFTER.

Not like Gvozdyk was any good, he was losing on pts vs a 40 years old, unhealthy and sick Adonis.

Sooo what a waste of talent, right?

Adonis was never good. As soon as he stepped up in competition, down he went.

Gvozdyk is an incredible boxer, and I'm not one of the usual suspects. But this kid is special. His footwork is a thing of beauty. The straight right is absolutely lethal. The punch speed variation/selection... Beterbiev gets my respect 100% for this win.

As a fan of Beterbiev its been brutal to watch how slow things have moved for him. I thought he was capable of beating top guys in 2015. He didn't win a belt til the end of 2017. Since winning a belt 3 years ago, he's had 3 fights. Some of this slow progress was injury sh^t that is just gonna happen sometimes. That last W over The Nail was such a great win to, but now its a year later & he's fighting a whatever guy next. Thing is idk what else they coulda done with how things were lined up & how the business tends to work besides gotten him a title shot a lil sooner maybe.

That said the biggest culprit in Beterbiev's slow progress & so many others slower than ideal progress in the past or currently like GGG, Thurman, Spence, Ennis & so many other top guys is boxing makes no fooking sense outside the ring. It takes far too long for the cream to reach the top of the sport. Who you know is more important then your talent. There needs to be a better & more fair process to navigate a boxer from pro debut to prospect to contender to #1. It should be a process that looks out for boxing first, the boxer second, the fans third & the fans money fourth. Right now boxing is just a flea market of small businesses all looking out for themselves & everything is a going outta business type sale more than its a building the sport stronger brick by brick outlook. Thats a huge fooking problem no one ever talks about specifically mfers with skin in the game.

I agree with you on everything.

I think Beterbiev had a special talent and an aura of invincibility when he fights. He just never fight haha.

Most def for at this age beterbiev best option for money and legacy is a canelo fight for $ possibly ramiraz if he ever catches n always got chavez jr for a check and warm up. Other than that only fight other belt holders and unify division only way to make most out of last 6 fights at this age
