Warren asks Rudy Markussen if he is ready to face Calzaghe October 14.

Frank Warren has asked Team Palle about terms and if Rudy Markussen is ready to face Calzaghe October 14th in Manchester. Rudy is scheduled to fight on the undercard of Kessler – Beyer in Copenhagen but on Team Palle’s home site Rudy states that he is 200% ready fight in the M:E:N Arena instead.

Jangeorg. How would you rate Markussen, compared to JC.

Yes it would be fun with two danes fightin for all four belts on the same night, but honestly, Markussen won´t stand a chance -IMO.

JC is faster and has quick hand
Markussen is slow"but not slow like Lacy "but Markussen has a hell of KO punch,so perhaps, one clean hit and Calzaghe will stay down

Rudy Markussen has been the rightful mandatory for Calzaghe for ONE years now
Especially WBO is very bad in this respect. Many fighters have found themselves waiting years and years as mandatory, and WBO did nothing. That is another reason why WBO is a joke organisation. The big three are not saints, but WBO is too much in the pockets of their champs

Calzaghe has a very solid chin though, any KO punch would have to be a one in a million fluke if Joe is in good condition.

I have seen a few great rounds by Markussen. But he gets quite frustrated if he faces real trouble - and it showes in the fight. I think JC would be trouble.. BIGTIME
