  • Comments Thread For: Povetkin's Promoter: Whyte Rematch in Late Winter, Early Spring

As BoxingScene.com previously reported, WBC interim-heavyweight champion Alexander Povetkin will be unable to face Dillian Whyte in a rematch on January 30th. Back in August, Povetkin brutally knocked out Whyte in five rounds at Matchroom's Fight Camp in Brentwood.

LOL Team Povetkin are going to pull Whytes pants down like The WBC did for the mandatory and keep him waiting as long as they choose for him to get slept again.

thats good news that team povetkin dont let themselves bully around like that. They need povetkin more than he needs them so they will either wait or take a tune up fight before

Whyte is a moron for puroposley pushing the rematch so soon. Team povetkin weren't having any of it.

This all goes back to management, Matchmaking. Fighters need to concentrate on boxing, the moment he choose to fight Povetkin I said it many times on here that it is a massive mistake. When you are a boxer you shouldn’t care about fans opinion. You should have fought back to back lower level competition whilst he waited for his mandatory shot. This is when keeping it real goes wrong. You got to be calculated, no one goes into a big fight by taking on risky opponents.

I don’t blame them why a rematch he was not defending a world title in voluntary defence. If I was Whyte take another fight until he is ready fight a bum to get confidence back another big name is not what he needs right now.

Povetkin shouldn't move forward with the rematch until his doctors and him are certain he's 100% recovered. No need to take any chances.

I think this was the best thing to happen for steady Eddie, with Pensionvetkin laying up in the retirement home recovering from covid, Shyte does not have an opportunity to win back his madotary spot and badger him abot fighting fury for the WBC, which would clearly be a pain in the Eddies arse while trying to make the Joshua and Mr wild bore gypsy fight.
