A long-planned showdown between the pair of Mexican junior lightweights now has a date, with their 130-pound title fight being eyed for February 20 on an ESPN platform.             If Valdez catches Berchelt early, I can see it being over. Berchelt has been caught and KO'd early by a lesser opp. However, if Berchelt survives, I can see Miguel drowning Valdez in the mid to late rounds.

              Valdez hasn't looked great with Reynoso and Berchelt should be the clear favorite, but I'm still rooting for Valdez. I'm hoping he has his best performance to date and can make this competitive and even potentially win it. But Berchelt is a force and has the rightful claim as the most proven 130 pounder at the moment.

                Valdez has a lot of heart, but this is a pointless mismatch. I respect him for wanting this fight, though.
