Hopkins vs Pavlik all over again. Hopkins IQ is too high to be backed up against the ropes and walked down like that (literally never happened in his prime). He takes away GGG's hook, keeps the fight in the center of the ring and outclasses GGG. Not even a hard fight IMO. A naturally smaller Canelo backed GGG up and out boxed him in the rematch, you can't expect anything less from a prime X.

This is getting repetitive. I think your memory is a bit hazy. If you don’t wanna go back and watch the fights and explain what was “outstanding” about him, that’s fine. Then just don’t come in here calling a B- fighter “outstanding” and nobody will ask you to.

Never outstanding...having wins on paper vs a 40 yr old who needed to move up in weight doesn’t automatically = “outstanding”, especially when he arguably lost. Was he outstanding vs smaller opponents spinks or Wright?

                heres the math -

                top contenders he fought -

                canelo -loss
                jacobs - win
                derev - loss

so thats 66% loss with top contenders. Which is exactly what 8 out of 12 is.
So I mean ANY genuine top contender.

taking till your 36 to face an actual number one contender.
and then losing against the next one.
means you were aware all along that you were going to lose half the time against the top contenders...thats why you left it late.

                  hardly ATG stuff.

Dont get me wrong, once he started fighting top level, it was genuine title reign. But its nothing more than anyone else who only beat one top contender.

                    But he beat Derevyanchenko.

If you are going by YOUR math and so called “logic” nearly every fighter in history, Floyd included has a much worse resume.

Also statistically you should have or at least would have left it at 66%, 8 out of 12 is false and misleading.

Korobov beat Charlo don’t you know.

GGG and Pavlik fight nothing alike, plus poor analogy as Pavlik had to come up 10lbs, just as Wright had to too make the fight.
