Why would Usyk step aside though?

Fury and Joshua is meant to be a two fight deal which would put Usyk on the sidelines for over a year in terms of a world title shot and he’s already in his mid 30s.

Also even if he stepped aside and waited for it and the WBO allowed it, there’s really no guarantee he’s going to get to fight Joshua or Fury after their fight, because they could vacate anyway after that, and then Usyk gets much smaller payday against somebody else for vacant title after waiting around for 18 months for a shot.


If I was Usyk, I would be demanding the AJ fight next, or demand he vacates if not. You have to put yourself first.

Usyk has only been waiting for a few weeks as the mandatory. If I'm making the decision as the governing body I wouldn't feel any obligation to Usyk whatsoever. I'd rather have a part in the biggest fight of the decade.

Had Usyk been waiting a year or two, maybe it would be different but I can't see it happening.

Usyk is going to become champion by default - is obvious he won't step aside because he can get the belt for free if he doesn't. That's good though because Usyk fans can be happy.

Hey I agree with you I just don't like the Automatic shot coming from a lower weight division all be it undisputed. and the way he's in the way of this mega fight taking place for the undisputed title.Having said this, if I was Usyk I would probably have the same stance as he's within the rules.

This whole thing is a joke anyways because ABC's will never allow another belt holder or ranked guy on other titles as the mandatory.

In reality, Tyson is way more qualified as a title challenger than Usyk but WBO specifically will not considerin him, which is an absurdity of the ABC organizations.
