Recommend a great step up opponent for Berlanga.

Anyone in the top 100 would be a good start.

Alfredo Angulo in March then JCC JR in June . Get some good names on his resume while at the same time stepping up a bit . Afterwards Steven Nelson , David lemieux. Once he gets 20 wins fight Plant

His opposition has been very weak. He has yet to fight a single fighter in the top 100.If he wants to fight Canelo soon then he should be fighting top 15 guys not guys ranked 150th.

          Alantez Fox. - lost Andrade
Bilal Akkawy. - lost to Ryder

          Affordable for Top Rank.

I’d say Truax but Haymon would advice to get the most money from Top Rank with this. Maybe 4-5 more fights and he can a former Champion.

I’d say Quillin too, but he’d probably price himself out. Angulo too.

At the moment he just has to climb up the ranks for eliminators

If he keeps stepping up each fight then Someone like Fedor Chudinov or Juergen Braehmer in a few fights time would be ideal in terms of opponents but why would they fight him?

He still needs a few better opponents before even fighting those kind of guys really.

He’s in quite a difficult position to get good opponents. Most half decent guys that can give him rounds and competition are not really looking to fight someone who is fighting on the middle of the undercard on cards that aren’t even big.

I think for a lot of guys, he's all risk and no reward so I think it will be hard for him to get him in fights people want until it's some sort of mandatory.

Boxrec rating of his last 5 opponents. 192nd 110th 136th 117th 563rd. He has not yet fought a guy in the top 100. Plant won his world title in his 17th pro fight and Benavidez won his world title i his 19th pro fight. He looks like a very hard puncher but can he take hard punches from a skilled hard punching top 10 world rated fighter?
