Never understood the hype behind this dude. He always looked very average.

Had to take a look at the punch a couple of times, thinking maybe it was a hook and I was just looking at it wrong, but no, it really was a jab. It was extremely fast and Verdejo walked onto it somewhat, but still, it's not normal for a jab to get that much of an extreme reaction, it seems like one of those freak punches that are just landed in the perfect spot at the perfect time, and probably not even entirely on purpose. It did all the damage too. The followup right hand that caused the subsequent knockdown doesn't even really land clean if you watch it in slow motion. It's mostly blocked by Verdejo's elbow and only really skims the top of his head, but his legs were just totally gone already.

Could've won the fight if he had been more defensively responsible. He used up too much energy and took way too much punishment through the fight, and it took its toll on him. His legs could barely hold him up and he was just done. A breeze could've blown him over by that point.

Damn, that dude just doesn't have it, not being disrespectful but he's just not a fighter. Verdejo better retire right now before he ends up brain damaged.

To be fair, with the types of knockouts Amir Khan has suffered, he still seems to have his faculties and isn't slurring. So maybe Verdejo would be alright, just has to step down some levels?
