7/10. So probably like a C+ or B-.
He had good movement. Wasn't as easy to hit as I've seen in the past, not that Pulev still didn't land some nice shots on him. Not sure he dropped a round all night. Got the stoppage. I feel like he coulda got the stoppage a lil sooner, but as someone else mentioned maybe he punched himself out a lil bit so played it safe here to avoid risking getting the apple cart upset again. So that is what it is & he's a big ass muscled up mfer so stamina is ALWAYS going to be a thing he needs to keep a measurement of. I thought that uppercut was beautifully effective & was what seemed to win the fight more or less as it hurt Pulev a good % of the time AJ was able to land it.Comment

7.4/10.
He scored a legitimate violent knock out, but? I believe his punch technique was a bit off, and overall strength lacking. Joshua can afford to come in a tad heavier '242-245 pounds would be more optimal'.
Joshua is clearly still going through a rebuilding process, it was vital tonight that scored a few knock downs and a knockout 'But he will know that he still needs to rediscover more of himself'.

What separates this and a 7.5 fight?Comment

I mean thats kinda the question that was asked to judge the quality of the W. Idk if its hypercritical or just looking at what he did right & what he coulda done better.
No one is perfect. And its rare someone doing something is doing it completely 10 outta 10 & if they are respect to them. Nothing wrong with discussing what could be better & what AJ has made better already.Comment

Just his overall demeanor, he is clearly still shook from his loss to Ruiz Junior 'But to his credit he is working through his issues center stage'.
When Soccer players go through phases like Joshua, they are sitting on the bench or working behind the scenes on the training ground 'Joshua is center stage'.
I think Joshua will face Uysk next.Comment

8.5/10.
He almost punched himself out in the 3rd and it affected him in later rds...that's the only knock on the performance.
But those uppercuts show he's getting ready for Fury because Fury is open to get hit with uppercuts all night once you can find the range.
The pull back counter that hurt Pulev in the 3rd rd was a thing of beauty. No other giant can pull that off and it's great to see Mayweather the king of pull back counter ringside. And the fast combo he threw in the 2nd rd was a thing of beauty.
Whenever AJ let his hands go - it's a thing of beauty. The best HW on the planet by a mile!Comment

The biggest improvement that I think AJ could've made....body punching! AJ likes throwing an uppercut-hook-hook combo, but he never threw the hooks to the body. He was stabbing with the jab to the body, but Pulev was very open to body hooks when he would shell up.Comment
