I am sure some posters on here can probably best some of the smaller fighters (under 140) if they have a 40 lb weight advantage and most importantly compete against elite competition so that they understand what they are getting into and understand how to use your size advantage against a quicker man.
I myself know for a fact that I can best some boxers smaller than me only because I have competed against a lot of people in the amateurs and sparred against some really solid guys (some well known) and know where I compare more or less.
As for the guy that says 140 lb skilled boxer would have trouble with just an athletic 190 lb guy they forget to include one thing and I will use myself as an example sort of. I competed from bantam to welter over 4 years as a teen so I would be classified as a smaller boxer. Still in very solid shape today but since I don't worry about staying as lean as possible I am 170 lbs. Boxers are a lot heavier 99% of the time when they are not focusing on dropping weight. Add at least 20 lbs to each one aside from the few exceptions.
It also isn't the skill so much you have to worry with a skilled smaller man. It is the massive speed and reflex advantage that makes them landing on you target practice. And if you don't know how to negate that speed and they hit hard enough to hurt you then you are in trouble.
