  • Comments Thread For: Berlanga Ready To Showcase Skills if Opponent Can Last Beyond First

Unbeaten super middleweight puncher Edgar Berlanga (15-0, 15 KOs) is hoping to eventually meet a fighter who can last more than a single round. Berlanga has knocked out all 15 of his opponents in the first round. He returns to the ring on December 12th, at the MGM Grand's Conference Center in Las Vegas.

Managers don't see anything special would be my guess. Lopez, Beterbiev, Derevyanchenko, and Usyk have under 20 fights and they are the (established!) man in their respected divisions.

I was impressed he got Bellows out in 1 last time out. I thought Bellows woulda gotten some rounds in & I thought there could've been some small upset potential if he got a few rds deep with him.

Edgar wasn't having that doe. Respect to him.

But I mean someone is gonna get past the first eventually. I just hope his team doesn't get into this first round bs & match him weaker to "break the record" or whatever. They need to just keep it moving & match Edgar in the best way to get him experience vs higher n higher level guys. And at this point I don't think they should leap too high, but these first round KO's are saying he can be matched a lil tougher each time out & they need to be trending that way a lil faster maybe.

I would like to see Berlanga face someone like Anthony Dirrell. I know that would represent a huge step up but I think it would be an intriguing matchup.

Dirrell just had a belt. That's a giant leap. He's a PBC guy to so that's likely to be an issue setting up.

I'd like to see Edgar vs Ievgen Khytrov. Ievgen gots a lil name with the Contender. He's solid & would easily be Edgar's best opponent without putting him into too deep of water if he has a bad night &/or encounters too much resistance.

So either he wins or he has trouble but it's work through-able trouble. If he fights a guy as experienced as Dirrell & has trouble he's basically just gonna have a bad day & catch an L cuz that's a big ask to overcome when the man hasn't even met a round card girl in real time yet.

LMAO. Sierra is #161 on box rec. That in a weak 168 division. Maybe Bumlanga will go past the first when he cracks the top 100?

It sucks that 168 I'd basically spread across all the networks. I doubt we see this kid in with anyone with a damn anytime soon. Maybe by late 2022 or something
