Now, NSB says Danny "quit". No, that's how Danny ALWAYS fights.

This was a superb performance.
Too bad others on NSB still think Danny quit. It's telling of how toxic the place is, to discredit what was basically a near perfect fight against a Top 5 welterweight.

Instead they'd prefer to see early stoppages of C-levels.

      Danny tried.

He threw 700 punches, which is at least 250 more than he threw at Porter or Thurman.

Unfortunately, he landed less punches on Errol than on either of those two.

He threw over a third more punches at Spence and connected less...that's how good Errol is.

He didn't quit but he didn't exactly fight with a burning desire to win either. Compare the fire he showed in the final ten seconds of the twelfth round compared to... well, any other point in the contest. He became content to simply ride the fight out to a decision loss. The fight wasn't bad (nor was his performance), it just lacked any real drama.

I still think Garcia would be a very stern test for Crawford (the toughest of his career, on paper at least) and tell us a lot more about where Crawford is actually at as a welterweight. I wouldn't mind seeing that fight in the interim while we wait for a Spence-Crawford showdown.

When you look at it, Spence, Garcia, Porter and Thurman have all boxed each other in a round robin with the sole exception of Spence-Thurman. Crawford on the other hand has been at 147lbs for two and a half years now and hasn't boxed a single one of them. He needs to get a move on, leave Top Rank and make some of those fights happen. Otherwise, at 33 years old he's in danger of leaving behind a 'what if?' legacy with a rather lacklustre resume in relation to his perceived talent.
