oh really? Care to provide any proof that there was an actual offer made to Plant? Here’s a quote from Plant on this site just a couple of weeks ago

“It was brought to my attention that this was something that could happen (on Dec. 19),” Plant told BoxingScene. “It wasn’t like they came to me with an offer even though I had an idea what I could make off a fight like that. But it’s not like they came to me and said, ‘This is what you’re gonna make.’ It wasn’t detailed, just a potential thing and they were working to get it done and they couldn’t come to terms on it with Canelo.”

But let’s not let a thing like facts get in the way of you pretending Canelo didn’t want Smith to be his opponent ever since he saw that nobody Ryder beat him.

Saunders won easily but the ref was a disgrace. Dirty tactics all night from Saunders never even got a point deducted. If he fights a big name fighter he won't get away with that stuff.

Exactly, I've always thought highly of Murray but this was a shell of Murray & Saunders should be embarrassed to keep putting on these types of stinky performances that sent the few in attendance into a coma. I think Saunders gets beat by ko by Benevidez,Canelo,Charlo,Smith by UD,& Plant would be a 50-50 fight due to style just like Andrade who I would say is 65-45 due to mental edge after the prior fallout.

On a side note I'm confused why people say Saunders hasn't looked good since Lemieux (before now), since the Isufi shutout was much closer to this than to Akavov/Coceres. It wasn't quite Lemieux but it's weird to me people argue he looked terrible in that outing instead of harping on opposition quality which would be more logical.

Its due to him always boringly jabbing his way to a decision vs complete overmatched opponents. He is too happy to weigh 210 lbs pre camp,boil down in camp,then look listless & flat in fight. (I would argue he got a complete gift v Akavov for these reasons exactly)

so your argument is that canelo is fighting smith in December because plant didn’t want a fight canelo on short notice in May? Lol. 1 has nothing to do with the other and an offer was never given to plant for a canelo fight in May anyway. There was only a question as to whether he’d be willing to take the short notice fight and he said nah. Yet smith turned down an actual offer in May and still got the December fight. Be sensible.
