Why's everyone in the UK mocking Dubois for quitting?

Firstly, I'm not really a fan of Dubois or his apologist and I wanted him to show me more before I jump on the bandwagon. I'm the same guy (the only poster here) who emphatically said Joyce would spark him and also the same person who created a thread last week asserting that Wardley showed me more in his fight against Lartey than Dubois has shown me in his career.

Also, when the Dubois hype reached its crescendo on here after the Gorman - I was the only one who said he's a novice and not as good as advertised. And he needs to slow down because he's a KO waiting to happen. So I'm not here to be his apologist.

However, the lad is just 23 and at 23, the 2 top heavyweights today, who actually had better amateur careers weren't fighting a guy like Joyce. Fury was getting battered by a fat pub tosser called McDermott at 23 and AJ just turned pro. So he still has time and can always come back to do big things. Not saying Joyce is a great boxer because he's going to get sparked soon as well. But he's levels above whoever AJ and Fury fought at 23.

It's just sad that everyone in the UK, from Johnny Nelson, to Peter Fury, to Ben Davidson, to Tom Little, To Dave Allen, to Spencer Fearon, etc. are calling him a quitter and mocking him. The nerve of the two punching bags with big mouths - Tom Little and Dave Allen - calling a young lad who achieved more than they will ever dream of in boxing mocking the guy. Didn't Dave Allen quit against Pricey? LMAO. These guys just want to break the guy. I think he deserves part of it for mocking an old blind woman. But they're taking it too far.

I honestly didn't know a lot of people in British boxing hate Dubois. I thought AJ was the most hated because he keeps most of them at arms' length due to jealousy. But the bollocking Dubois is getting is an eye opener.

Remember when everyone was white knighting Brook and calling him brave for quitting?

Kinda like calling a whore chaste after she's finished sucking everyone's ****.

A quit is a quit, I have no problem if a fighter quits but lets not pretend it isn't what it is at the end of the day.

Leave the kid alone. He’s only 23 and was in over his head. Broken orbital bone is no joke and he panicked.

More admirable to quit after breaking an orbital bone than quit after getting punched like Joshua did.

Quitter is too strong a word, he just have not a big heart for fighting. Quitter is someone who is a coward, otoh Dubois had a serious reason to end the fight, however, there are lots of brave fighters who would continue fighting in spite of the situation.
