you cant be harsh on dubois...

in my opinion he did exactly the right thing, hes 23 year old, gtfoh with 'he should have let himself get ko'd' what difference does it make he would (or should cause it looks like the frank warren robbery was on) have lost either way and that eye injury was gruesome and a solid straight from joe could have ended his career before its even got going.
Fact is the kid wasnt prepared for it at all mentally or physically, fed a load of bums then had a huge step up in class, exactly the same thing happened with bakole.
Hes got a long career ahead of him and now he knows where he went wrong, you could still see a lot of talent there offensively but hes falllen in love with his power thinking as soon as he lands clean joyce was gonna go like the rest of them, you could see the panic on his face early on when he realised joe wasnt going anywhere. Its no surprise his defence was non existent when hes never needed to use it, warrens got to take the blame for thinking that fight was a good idea with out dubois gradually moving up in class before hand.
Put yourself in his shoes, 23 years old, no challenges whatsoever as a pro, everyone hyping you through the roof and now you are running on empty with some horrible 18 stone + heavyweight who isnt going anywhere, plodding forward and turning your face into a butchers block
people talking are talking about him like hes in his mid 30s ffs, no wonder fighters dont usually want to take risky fights early on cause they get crucified if they lose.
funny the same people hyping him are now calling him a hype job themselves, problem is that the public build these guys up just to knock them down.

He preformed great last night he really did,i couldnt see the top 10 heavyweights taking those punches

We just need to give credit to joyce and the team that implanted his adamantium skeleton and boxing iq chip

Joyce is a living nightmare for any of the top guys, theyll all be running with their tails between their legs now

Joyce can't be bargained with. He can't be reasoned with. He doesn't feel pity, or remorse, or fear! And he absolutely will not stop, ever, until you are dead

The problem is, he’s shown he’s willing to take a knee and get counted out if things are tough.

Whether he did the right thing or not, do you think top level guys Fury, Canelo, GGG etc..would go down on a knee and be counted out like that? Even at 23. Not a chance. Many fighters of all levels wouldn’t.

I give him credit for taking the fight, but he showed a huge mental flaw there. It is what it is.

Obviously anybody that gets in the ring has balls but I mean in the context of strictly boxing, some people are just warriors and some will fold when it gets tough and it seems like he falls into the latter category. That’s really hard to overcome because you can’t train that.

It’s always going to be a problem for him. And it always gets easier to do it.

He shouldn`t be in the ring with Joyce, to begin with.

Nah he quit. You can’t compare fighters to none fighters.

Paulie Malignaggi was in his 20’s when suffered the exact same injury vs Cotto in 2006. Paulie had no chance of turning that fight around but he never took a knee. He kept fighting!

Don’t compare Dubois to non-fighters cause we all know they’d quit, they’re not fighters! You have to compare him to his peers.

If Dubois were American this thread would be killing him for being a quitter.

He’s a Brit so Dramshow gives him a pass.

he's 23 and still a prospect, he probably did the right thing, like Marcellus Walles said in the Pulp Fiction movie - '**** pride, pride only hurts', take for example Korobov-Lee fight, if Korobov just took a knee, took a breather, he would probably recover, he was winning that wight, but what do we have in the end, mediocre boxer had become a world champ and the the most talented MW who beat Usyk in the ams by the way, just dissapeared and became irrelevant, same can be said about Lopez-Commey, stay down and recover, dont try to avenge right away, **** pride

I agree he had a good reason to quit. Hes 22; he must have felt his nerve damaged or something. This wasnt a world title fight nor was dubois defending a title hence he didnt have to risk damaging his eye forever like kell brook. Hes 22 all he has is boxing; hes not got anything on the side or anything he can bounce back on or sells real estate lol.

Better to not risk your eye fr the only thing you have to make money. Dubois will surely be a world champ in 2-3 years

I find it hard to hate on him. There's talk of him him having orbital damage, his eye was a mess.

The fight itself was a good one and a close one at the time of stoppage, even though Joyce had taken control.

It was a big step up for him, even though he was made favourite in most parts. Joyce is a solid HW and was being undersold in the media.

Dubios can come back. He just needs to get over the stigma of 'quitting'.
