You are 0 for 2 with your A S S umptions. I’m a former United States Marine so im as American as they come. I’ve been watching “this sport” starting with watching Mike Tyson fight as a teenager. Growing up while my friends were taking about NFL, NBA I would talk about boxing which was foreign to them. Had this fight continued it would have been stopped “on the advice of the doctor” or the way it ended.

This is what happens when it's the home town hero getting beat. Anybody else would have been saved by the corner, but in the home boys case, they want to give their fighter every chance. They were going to let Joe knock his eye out.

That match was supposed to be interrupted at least a round, two before. No one from the corner threw a towel, and the doctor didn't seem to be there. Winning is more important to them than the health of the boxers, sadly. Even Joe signaled with his hand after the round to stop it, but no one did anything. Sad!

Call me old fashioned, but I like my fighters to actually have some fight in them, and that boy just quit the first time somebody punched him back.

eh, I think he was just a beaten man and he knew it. No need to take more damage if he knows that. Come back and fight another day. Peace.

I predicted Dubois would win easily before the fight but as soon as I Joyce had neutralized his jab and was out-jabbing him that he was in trouble. Credit to Joyce, I still don't think he's a great boxer but he came out with a great gameplan and showed once again that he is both durable and has a great engine.

I could see him giving a lot of heavyweights trouble with his work-rate alone.

As for Dubios, it was a bad loss, he showed that he can be easily frustrated, that he potential has stamina problems and some will now question his heart after the way he quit.

Still he is very young and can bounce back from this, I do think he needs better people around him though

Dunno why people are giving dubois **** about quitting, his eye was fully closed and then he took another solid whack to it. He did the right thing.
Both of em looked stiff though, dubois needs to train his endurance more and muscle building less
